the piano keys were rippling across the ceiling like when you shake out a blanket in the wind. our soundtrack to this if-theres-no-thunder-we'll-make-our-own kind of love. dusk was bleeding the sky into a pastel painting blur outside my window and we were moving in rhythm like the waves do with the ocean. it was just a notion, but i could've sworn that i had confetti in my veins. you had that look in your eyes that i have to catch from an angle where the rays of light align just right. i can't even explain it. its like the sunshine made love to lightning and the sparkle in your eyes was the result. &i wanted to melt into you; i wanted to become fully apart of you because some days i swear we are an endless pile of skin that has no beginning or end, just two beating hearts that are trying to live inside the same ribcage. the way the last pinch of daylight seeped through my window, you said it fell onto my shoulder blades and scattered across my back like distorted wings. well, you made me this way. i was ivory and light with a silver lining like a wisp of milky white smoke across midnight. you said i was an angel, remember? &i whispered, i whispered "if you want to fly tonight then boy, you better hold on tight." i was scribbled and sketched between your arms. &like an artist sculpting his clay, you had made me this way. i could taste you between the commas of my heartbeats. i could breathe your oxygen in between this midnight black ink thats screaming your name. i put the punctuation in all the wrong places but when the letters dry, the story is still the same. &you know, that’s the closest you can ever be to a person. just like that, he was inside of me and i was lost twirling somewhere inside of him and i prayed to god that i would never be found. i don't ever want to be found.
